Why Neurodiversity Affirming?

After graduating with her Masters in Counseling, Mallorie had the opportunity to work with clients presenting with ADHD and/or trauma. Finding the traditional techniques lacking, Mallorie sought out alternative approaches to utilize in therapy that support neurodivergence holistically. Mallorie gleaned information from people with lived experience, and sought research and training by leaders in the neurodiversity affirming area of the psychotherapy field. (Recommended resources listed here.) It was this initial experience that kickstarted Mallorie’s career of offering an inclusive, neurodiversity affirming therapeutic approach. Mallorie’s hope is to provide a healing experience where people can begin to embrace more of who they are and break free from the shame of being different from “everyone else.”

Mallorie integrates a variety of treatment approaches to best suit each individual client. She believes in the power of holistic, integrative care rooted from an attachment-based lens. Mallorie strives to be neurodiversity affirming, LGBTQIA+ affirming, anti-racist and HAES aligned.

“It’s not always enough to go looking for the place we belong. Sometimes we need to make that place.”
